Privacy

The short version

Capsify collects only what's needed to make the app work. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time.

What we collect

Account info

Email address and password (hashed) when you sign up. Display name, username, and avatar that you set on your profile.

Content you create

Capsules, items (photos, places, notes, links, music, videos, clips), comments, and likes. This is what makes the app work — it's your content, visible to other Capsify users.

Photos and videos

When you upload a photo or record a clip, the file is stored in our private cloud storage and served back via a public URL. We don't send these files anywhere else.

Location

We use your device's location only when you actively use the "Nearby" sort on the Discover tab. Coordinates are sent to our server to find capsules near you, then discarded. We do not store your location history.

Push tokens

When you allow notifications, we store the device's push token so we can send you notifications about activity on capsules you follow. Tokens are deleted when you sign out or revoke notifications.

Crash reports

We use Sentry to collect anonymized crash reports and error logs to fix bugs. These reports may contain device model, OS version, and a random anonymized user ID — never your email, password, or content.

How to delete your data

Open the app, go to Profile → Settings → Delete account. This immediately removes your account, your profile, all capsules you created, all items you posted, all photos and videos you uploaded, and all your likes and comments. The action is permanent and we cannot recover the data afterward.

If you can't access the app, email support@capsify.app from the email tied to your account and we'll delete it manually within 7 days.

Children

Capsify is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has used Capsify, email us and we'll delete the account.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Significant changes will be announced in the app. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
